Mirz-Jiles is a small business owned by a husband and wife team. We are internet site operators, just like you. In fact, we own and operate nearly a dozen different websites, most non-profit, public-service related. In our own dealings with hosting companies, we often found that despite providing sufficient amounts of space and bandwidth, the actual websites ran slow and experienced outages. We would get blank pages, reliable scripts would malfunction, or we would have problems with the graphics/pages not fully loading. In our frustration, we did research and learned that in order to maximize their profits, most web-hosting companies pack their servers full, meaning they carve up the space and sell it to as many websites that can fit. This means that when you purchase a shared hosting package, you are sharing the server with several hundred other websites, and sometimes up to 800 websites on one machine! With that many sites sharing the same resources, particularly at peak periods, it is no wonder that all the sites on the server would experience slowdowns. This was quite an education to us, and explained how these hosting companies are able to offer such rock bottom prices. While we understood why companies would do this (they are a business and have a right to make money), this was simply unacceptable to us, since we needed not only space and bandwidth, but dependable performance for our websites. So, we decided the only thing to do was begin hosting our own sites. Realizing others had similar needs as our own, we decided to offer hosting to others as well.
It is true that big companies can offer a lot of perks, but sometimes the best benefit a business can offer you is personalized attention.. Even though we are a small business, we are committed to providing our customers with top-notch service. We have a firm commitment not to oversell. We have limited the number of hosting accounts per server; once they're gone they're gone. This is to help assure that the resources needed for our customers are available and websites will perform at peak levels. Since we house our own websites on our servers; aside from automatic monitoring of up-time, we also take extra effort to personally check to make sure things are running smoothly.
